Suspect: Darnell Hayes, 18 years old

On May 18, 2026, officers attempted to arrest 18-year-old Darnell Hayes. Upon contact, the suspect initially attempted to flee on foot and refused arrest. The suspect then stole marked police cruiser unit LINCOLN-6 and fled the scene, resulting in a vehicle pursuit. During the pursuit, the suspect operated the vehicle recklessly and ultimately crashed the cruiser, causing damage to unit LINCOLN-6. The suspect was taken into custody following the incident. Possible charges include motor vehicle theft, fleeing and eluding police, resisting arrest, reckless driving, and driving without a license.
